Epic Mickey Gets Epic Opening Cinematic!

November 2009 was when we first saw a look of Epic Mickey on the cover of the Game Informer. This didn’t look like any Disney game, all nice and cuddly but dark and sinister. Mickey with a paintbrush in hand staring out into what seemed to be Disney World completely broken apart with an evil black figure in front of him. We were giving the first cinematic opening but was left hanging when Mickey was dragged down by this black beast into this torn up, destroyed world. Leaving us with a to be continued….. Well today it is September 2nd 2010 and we have just received the second half of the cinematic and its looks awesome! can’t wait for Epic Mickey to hit stores sometime this holiday. Check out both cinematic videos below.

“Your World Megafied!!”

“Your World Megafied!” The words of Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man at the end of the latest trailer of Mega Man Universe. If you recall back in July we were shown a trailer that was somewhat confusing as we didn’t have any gameplay to show us what the game actually was. Well Keiji Inafune answered to this confusion by releasing this new gameplay trailer of Mega Man Universe. The first video is of the trailer back in July and the second of course is the new one. Check it out and see what you think!

Kirby’s Epic Yarn Japanese Trailer

Kirby’s Epic Yarn is one of the games at E3 excited me the most. Between the music, visuals, and gameplay Kirby’s Epic Yarn looked like a whole yarn of fun and more. Now we’ve all seen trailers for Kirby’s new adventure, but maybe you haven’t seen the Japanese trailer. It makes Kirby’s Epic Yarn look cute, adorable, and makes that little Pink ball a bad a**. Check it out! and hopefully October 14th 2010 won’t take to long to get here.

New Xbox 360 Controller

So November 9th Microsoft will be releasing a new Xbox 360 Controller. Main thing that changed was the D-pad….Why we need another controller?? I don’t know, but your able to twist the D-pad which will make it more distinguished and easier to hit the buttons on the D-pad. Don’t get me wrong, this has been something gamers have been wanting for a while. The catch here is that you have to pay $65.00 which has the plug and play pack. So is it worth it? To me…no. but maybe more people will be open to buying this. There also has been a change to the A B X Y buttons. They have been discolored and as for the controller in whole, its said to feel a little more comfortable in your hands. Here are some screenshots of the new Xbox 360 controller. You’ve got a couple months to decide if $65.00 is worth it. Also check out this video below where you will see the changes.

Really Microsoft?? $@#%^$@#

xbox_live_220_pmnthMicrosoft hasn’t been very appealing to me in the past year seeing that they have been pushing Kinect so much. With the noticeable delay and the $150.00 price, Kinect looks like a piece of crap to me and I’d rather go for the Move (PS3) or stick with my Wii. As for today Microsoft has announced that on November 1st Xbox live will be raised 10 dollars. one month will go from 7.99 to 9.99, three months $19.99 to 24.99 and  Xbox Live Gold $49.99 to $59.99. I don’t understand it. Aren’t they making enough money. I mean look at PlayStation…Yes, they just came out with PlayStation Plus but overall you don’t need to pay to play online. So why is Microsoft raising the cost on Xbox Live. I don’t know, but lets hope they come up with an excellent explanation or they have something reallllllllly cool to add to Xbox Live that makes up for the price changes. Right now though maybe you should go stock up on Xbox Live subscriptions before they decide these price changes weren’t enough.

PS3 Afterglow effect

Lets face it, game controllers are expensive and it sucks when you’ve bought a new game with Co-op, your friend doesn’t have a controller and you only have that one and no more money because you just bought a new game. PS3 and Xbox 360 afterglow-ap1-controller-review-20100503050612601_640wwireless controllers are usually 60 bucks (same price for a game) and not all of us want to dish out that much money just for a controller. Now they do have cheaper controllers out there but you can never be sure if its feels good, how durable it is, or how long it is going to last. Well I wanted to talk about the Afterglow Controller by PDP. I kept walking past this thing in Best Buy and saw it was only 30 dollars. I finally caved and gave it a shot and I definitely like it. Here are some attributes:

1.The controller is smaller than the normal PS3 controller, so this could be a good or bad thing depending on how it feels in your hands.

2.The glow of the controller can be a little annoying cause it is super bright. *update* (There is a button to turn off the lights in the back)

3.The D-pad and Analog 1 stick are switched around (To me, its feels better in my hand.)

4.The Analog sticks have a concave feel to them.

5.There are built in bumpers to the L2 and R2 (Which feel great!)

6.Weighs heavier then PS3 Dual shock 3 controller.

7. Also works with the PC.

Overall this is a great controller and for the price you can’t go wrong. Good thing is PDP makes these controllers for the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii also. So if you need an extra controller head on out and pick up and Afterglow controller.

Mafia II Demo Impressions

mafia2-logo-thumb-480x428-29072It was August 28th 2002 when Mafia was released for the PC and with all the good reviews the game got, who wouldn’t want to do it again? Its now been 8 years later and Mafia II is about to be released in one week. I had to chance to try out the Mafia II demo and all though the demo was only 20 minutes long It was fun. Some things you should know is this was not a final build and there was a time limit on the city time, so I wasn’t able to explore the city to long.

The game starts off with Vito getting a phone call telling him to meet at an apartment to help with a hit on someone. Head outside, go to your garage, and grab your car of choice. Like I said earlier, you don’t have a ton of time driving the streets because of a time limit, but just like GTA you speed or hit someone, be ready for the cops to chase you. You arrive at your destination where a cut scene will start and you’ll get ready to start firing when the man your trying to kill shows up. Something that I noticed right off the bat, was the destruction of the environment. pretty much anything you shot could be destroyed. Mafia II also features a nice run and cover action and the ability to pick up weapons from enemy’s you just killed, like a Thompson machine gun and a shotgun.

Visually Mafia II looks awesome between character, lighting, and environment detail. The animations are smooth running from one position to the next, and the physics that are used when shooting items or walls look nice. You can really see the detail of contact. Also the driving detail is very real, it will take some time to get used to.

As for the music, it does a real good job of making you feel like your in the 1940 & 50’s. from Frank Sinatra to John Lee Hooker you’ll never be bored with the style and the feel of being a mobster.

Obviously I can’t give a huge synopsis  because this is only a demo, but just like the first one’s success. I predict this one succeeds Mafia in sales, gameplay, and storyline. Look out for Mafia II and step into Vito Scaletta’s shoes  August 24th 2010.

Bioshock: Infinite annouced!!

Batman Arkham City

Most people would probably say that Batman Arkham Asylum was one, if not the best Superhero game ever made with its detailed graphics, and exhilarating story. As they take you into the twisted mind of the Joker. Joker tricks Batman into capturing him and when they arrive at Ackham all hell breaks lose when Joker free’s himself and takes control of the Asylum. Now I can’t go into much more detail because I myself haven’t beat the game but I know Nick has and if his excitement meant anything. It was that the game was incredible. Well exciting news arose and the new Batman Arkham City trailer was released. It doesn’t show to much but havoc and that the Joker is back and it looks like Catwoman is involved as well. So here it is, the trailer for Batman Arkham City!
